Masters 2 Clash! Ranking

  • Dear players,

Clash! is over and after checking the rankings to assure that all participants were playing fair, we are now finally ready to share the TOP 5000 ranking!

Congratulations to the winner sacroima , who already won the title Master of Knowledge! Winning two exciting challenges, what an amazing achievement!
If you want to check out your own rank, have a look at this PDF file:
    Clash Ranking.pdf

What we also find interesting is the distribution between the ranks and scores of all Clash! participants. The distribution is very remarkable.

Do you have an idea what could have caused this distribution? We hope you liked Clash! as much as we did and would love to hear your feedback, opinions and stories about it!

  • Yes, I can guess about the distribution.

Some players got 5 extra games to play because they happened to log in during the small window after the daily reset but just before the game ended, because nobody knew when the game would end!

If it ain't Dutch, it ain't much!

actually, you had 22hours instead of 24 the last game.

As for the distribution, you "clearly" see a distribution where most players would end up at around 1'000 points, if they had played all of their games (or more of those).

A curve representing the average points per game (a weighted average to account for the difference in game points if you played 10 games counting x5 or 10 games counting x1) would be much more representative of the actual "skill" I believe ;) Who knows, you might even see players who would have better scores than the actual top10, but simply played less games.

  • Ok, so still, players thinking there is still 2 hours left to play their last 5 games were not allowed to.

And yes, avg score could normally be seen but that disappeared from the final ranking unfortunately.

Also, something isn't quite right, it looks like I barely made the Top500 at 485th but the entire contest I was at the 150-200 mark. So what happened exactly on the last day, did I indeed miss my last 5 games or not?

Why is the avg score and the # of games played shown the entire contest but not included in the final ranking overview ???

I want to see those numbers, because I don't believe this final ranking is correct at all.

If it ain't Dutch, it ain't much!

  • You missed the last 5 games, becouse i missed them also...before the last day i was on 8th place... and now i am on 76...thank you a lot once again RN for cutting short the time with 2 hours.

  • re distribution …

I love playing Clash - enjoyed it last year and was enjoying it this year. Had I continued playing as I did in the first half I would probably have ended somewhere around 350 as that's roughly where I came out at the end of each day's play. However, due to heavy RL commitments I lost several days play taking me below the 1000 mark and then I lost the last day's play (I tend to play Clash in the last 2 hours of the day) so I came in at 1369 :) Hopefully Clash will be back next year and I can redeem myself lol

Point is … you only have to lose a few days play to significantly change your rank

  • Google Translate: It's a pity that unfortunately I met swindlers every now and then and thus lost some points ... otherwise it might even have been enough for the win ... but I'm also very happy with second place. Congratulations to the winner. Nevertheless, I hope that Clash will be back next year and maybe there is a way to turn off the cheaters even before they cost anyone points ... because a recalculation is understandably not possible. Greeting Inko

  • Agreed Inkognito.

I lost 30 points I think to those fake players / swindlers, and I was lucky enough to not face any of them in the last days, getting matched to people around the 1000th rank more often than not.

I believe that's the sole difference in the top10 rankings. I've faced a few people that appear in the top10-20, and I can definitely say they weren't better or worse than me. At the end, it came down to 1/ luck on the generation, 2/ the third player's attitude towards us and 3/ luck on our predictions.

But this generation algorithm is part of clash.

And I also would like to point out that the vast majority of players did play the game fairly, even when they were matched against me. You didn't see many team-ups to destroy a top10 player, everyone was playing to get to the win before the other 2, and that's a spirit I hope will persist in the years to come.

  • when do we receive our points for the clash, or are there no carreerpoints to win?

I don't have the exact date when Career points are rewarded, but those will be rewarded for sure.

Take part in at least one game: 50 CP

  • Why did I get 100 points for clash and wrote that I entered the 10,000 players ??? When I was in 8th place before the opportunity to play was cut off 2 hours before the usual end.

I got 100 too, even though my name is entirely missing from the rankings. I guess you got disqualified too. Now it's been 5 days and no response on my ticket.

Yes, and that loss of 2 hours moved me out of the top 100 where I hovered around 30-80 depending on how well I played during that daily reset. Ah well, such is life.

  • How can you cheat at Clash? You might have a faster connection than someone else (mine always seemed a bit slow) but other than that I really don't see how you can cheat at a game where you simply click on the next good you want to go to.

Queueing up at the same time as family seems to have me thrown out at least

  • Queueing up at the same time as family seems to have me thrown out at least

Is that cheating? So when we use external chats to invite players to our city when a new server starts is that cheating?

When RN team uses an "outside" platform to do their events isn't that cheating? Having multiple accounts and know one does nothing isn't that cheating? Different prices depending in which country we open the tickets is that cheating? App players can't schedule trains with the same stops as on PC isn't that cheating?

So I think the real question isn't who cheated but what's the real meaning of cheating?
