Rail Nation - The Champions!

  • Rail Nation - The Champions!

    Basic concept!

    Simple and exciting scenario.

To give wings to newbies. And new challenges for the champions.

All newbies start on this server!

They are one team with the champions and play for common goals.

    For newbies:

    - When you reach 50,000 points - then you know the basic rules of the game and have access to all scenarios and servers

    - When you reach 200,000 points - you become a champion

    For champions:

    - If you achieve a good position in the rankings, the next round you will compete with better players for bigger prizes

What conditions should we offer the newcomers?

    - Easy rules

    - Exciting experiences

    - Good training

    - Active servers with many active players (there is an active game in all cities)

    - Newcomers must play side by side with the champions to learn from them

    - Achievable goals

    - Gradually increasing degree of difficulty

    - Competition in the ranking list with players at their level (possibility to become champion of their level)

    In short:

    - 1 month. 2 eras x 14 days. (era 5 & era 6)

    - Mini map for each region

    - 1 region has 5 cities and 5 teams

    - All regions compete with each other!

    - 4x Required goods. Without passengers! 48 goods max

    - Champions League

Each city level brings points for the region.

The winner is the region that has collected the most points.

    * There are 2 such servers that start consecutively every 15 days. Only 2 common international servers for all languages!

    Why? Because I love <3Rail Nation<3:!:

    ----------

Rail Nation - The Champions! (EN)

Rail Nation - Die Champions! (DE)

    Rail Nation - Чемпионы! (RU)

  • In details:

This is a multi-round international scenario.

The difficulty for players is rising gradually. As in any championship!

From an easy challenge for newbies to the championship cup for the experts!

    The Challenges That Never End!

    - Map - Regions - Teams

    Let's be honest!

The game in its current form is not suitable for newbies!

    Goal: Successful start for beginners

    > There is an active city for every newbie

    > There is a secure place in an active team for every newcomer

    > There is help and guidance for every novice

    > An ideal place to learn the basic rules

    > An ideal place for meetings, contacts and friendship. For all players!

This is a new scenario designed to achieve these and other goals!

    Map - The regions

Mini-map with 5 cities. A small island. This is one region.

The maps of all regions are the same.

    * At best, each month of the year the server starts with a different map. (there are 12 mini-maps in total)

The regions are independent. And they have no connection with each other!

Each region has its own language of communication.

The server is international. But the regions are national.

    Cities

4x Required goods. Without passengers! 48 goods max

All cities start from level 1 (3 goods).

Maximum level of the city - 80.

    Eras

    One month per round. 2 eras x 14 days. (era 5 & era 6)

    Teams (Associations)

    1 Region - 5 cities - 5 teams

There are only 5 teams! Each city is one big team.

If you change the city - you change the team.

Each region has a president. Every city has a mayor. There are elections.

The mayor is the chairman of the team.

    * There's a presidential bonus. There's the mayor's bonus. (as in Europe)

    Newbies (Level A0: 0-49.999 PP) - restrictions

    * They are distributed automatically by the system

    * There is no limit to their count in the team

    * They are free to change team!

    * They do not participate in the prestige of the team

Players (who are not A0) - restrictions

    * The maximum number of players in 1 region is set before the start of the server

    * The maximum number of players in 1 team is 1/5 of the maximum for a region

    * Changing the team is only possible if the team maximum is not exceeded!

    * The prestige of the team is 10% of the prestige received by these players

    Competition between teams

All teams compete with each other!

    Competition between regions

All regions compete with each other!

Each city level brings points for the region.

The winner is the region that has collected the most points.

    * The success of the region depends on the levels of all cities. This challenges all cities in the region to be actively developed! There is an active play in all cities!

Regional points depend only on the levels of cities in the region!

    205 city levels = 205 regional points

We want the players to focus on the development of all cities in the region!

    Endgame

There is no. The round ends after 28 days and when there is a winning region.

    Industries

Simplified rules. Without a majority in the industries. The waiting time depends only on the team's investment.

    Register to play

Preliminary. Ends 24 hours before the start of the server (thereafter it is possible if there is free space on the server)

Newbies (A0): anytime (No choice - automatic distribution - troll protection)

Newbies - Easy start (Level A0: 0-49.999 PP)

The first round newbies receive a free plus account. For the whole round!

+ 50 gold for the first round!

    Lucy - just basic lessons

Locked features: sitter, invite friend, gold transfer, production series

License - free purchase of a license (without gold), without participation in auctions

    Others

Number of regions depends on the number of participants (theoretically unlimited, and may vary each round).

Unlimited number of players (>10000)! Each region can be computed from a separate physical server - there is no overloaded server.

Are there any questions about this part?

  • - Players - Champions League

    Actually, it's two leagues.

    1. Amateur league (newbies) < 200,000 points.

    2. Champions League (champions) >= 200,000 points

The Amateur League is a qualification for the Champions League.

The difficulty for players is rising gradually.

Newbies - Amateur League (Amateur players)

The Amateur League is a qualification for the Champions League.

Level A0 [0-49.999 PP] = All novices start from this level!

Every novice who reaches Level A1 (50.000 PP) has access to all servers in the game!

Level A1 [50.000-99.999 PP] = All players reached 50,000 points from the previous round!

    Level A2 [100.000-149.999 PP]

    Level A3 [150.000-199.999 PP]

Champions - Champions League (Advanced players)

All players who have reached 200,000 PP (on any RN server) can participate in the Champions League.

    Level 0

+ All players in top 30% go to the next level!

    Level 1

    # All players in top 60% keep their level!

    - All other players lose 1 level!

    * Level (1-5) If a player misses 6 rounds in a row, he loses a level (?)

Each player competes only with players of his level. There are 10 rankings!

Amateurs vs. amateurs. Champions vs. champions.

But all together - one team. Fighting side by side for common goals.

    Awards!

    Levels (A0-A3)

    - Top 1 Player gets 2 locomotive vouchers and 3 lottery tickets for the next round

    - Top 2-10 Players gets 1 locomotive voucher and 1 lottery ticket for the next round

    Levels (0-5)

    - Top 1 Player gets 2 locomotive vouchers for the next round

    - Top 2-10 Players gets 1 locomotive voucher for the next round

    - Top 10 Players gets Career Points

    - Career points for good ranking of a region (a minimum of 20,000 prestige is required for the player)

    * This is a basic concept. All values are indicative.

    * These and some other details need to be clarified with the developers.

    * I have many ideas. And I am open to dialogue in 3 languages.

Every novice who reaches Level A1 (50.000 PP) has access to all servers in the game!

  • This idea is based on:

    Rail Nation - Champions League!

  • don't make fun of the idea

    You're kidding again :)

  • Thus, all novices have:

    - Help and guidance in their language

    - Master the basic skills of the game

    - An active team to play in

    - An active city to play in

    - Active region in which to play

    - Easy and achievable goals

    - Exciting challenges and fun

  • I know for sure that the game is trying to drive out most of the newcomers.:cursing:

    With the following things:

    - Many problems in the game and launch

    - pre-registration of the teams

    - empty ghost towns

    - Crowded cities and teams - no place for them

    - complex rules (Europe and USA)

    - losing and backward regions in Europe

    - beginners compete in one ranking with champions (disappointing)

    - career locomotive

    - begin in a late era

    - Teams are not motivated to accept beginners because most of them quickly become inactive.

And immediate action must be taken!

  • Introduction

I understand that this my idea is hard to understand for most players.

Because this is a big idea that is made up of a few small ideas.

    And these ideas are interconnected.

It's like trying to explain to you what a human is.

If I describe a human head to you ... is that a human?

    Nope! Not exactly!

Human is a body, a head, legs and arms. And they are connected to the body.

Therefore, I will try to briefly explain the different parts of my idea.

As far as I can ;)

  • Scenario servers

    All servers now remain unchanged.

This scenario is for 2 special servers.

There will only be 2 international servers for all nations and languages.

There will be at least 10,000 players on each server. From all over the world!

    * There are 2 such servers that start every 15 days. Only 2 common servers for all languages!

  • 1. Ranking by groups (Skill groups - "Champagne League")

Goal: Fair competition! Amateur vs. amateur. Champion vs. champion.

All players play on one server. New and old, novices and professionals.

They are all on a common server. Just like now.

The only difference is that players will compete in different rankings according to their skills.

Now: We now have one group and one ranking.

New: We will have 10 groups and 10 rankings.

Players are grouped by their skills.

    We call groups levels.

Level A0 players - novices - players without any skills.

Level A1 players - novices with more skills

    ...

Level 0 players - experienced players

    ...

Level 5 players - the most experienced players

    When the round is over:

The player goes to the next level - if he has a good position in the ranking of his group

The player falls to the lower level - if he has a bad position in the ranking of his group

This is a grouping of players by skills.

And different groups participate in different rankings for different awards.

After the end of the round the player can go to a higher group or fall into a lower group.

    Depending on the achieved result.

This is what I call the "Champagne League".

    All players play one game.

    All together.

But they compete in different rankings according to their skills.

Are there any questions about this part?

  • 1. Champions League - Newbies (Amateur players)

The ranking here depends on the result achieved on any Rail Nation server.

Level A0 - [0 - 49,999 points] They do not know the basic principles of the game

50,000 is an easy goal. Every player can achieve it. Even just building his own station.

Every novice who reaches Level A1 (50,000 points) has access to all servers in the game!

Level A1 - [50,000 - 99,999 points] They know the basic principles but have little skills

    ...

The first goal for newbies is to reach 50,000 points and have access to all RN worlds.

The big goal of the newbies is to reach 200,000 points and become champions.

    2. Champions League - Champions (Advanced players)

The level the champions earn is only valid for the server they play on.

Champions against champions from all over the world!

The champions face the endless challenge of winning and maintaining their position in the Champions League.

Level 0 is the base level for all champions.

Full description of the league: Rail Nation - The Champions!

If you are good in your group you will win prizes and go to the next level of difficulty.

If you are not so good you will stay or fall.

Because this is the Champions League!

Are there any questions about this part?

  • Scenario servers (technical part)

Here we enter the technical part.

We have 2 servers for the new game scenario.

    These are 2 logical servers.

    Logical server

A logical server can easily distribute its work to a large number of physical servers. (Physical server = powerful computer)

The logical server of the game is a network of several physical servers.

For the user, this is just one server. Technically, these are several servers.

Each region in the game is independent of all others.

Each region has from 200 to 500 players. (for example)

Each region has its own language of communication.

Each region can be computed from a separate physical server.

The only thing that connects the individual regions - this is a common ranking of groups and regions. This is easy!

The servers share a common database!

Several regions can be computed from a single physical server.

    1 physical server (weak computer) - 8 regions of 350 players = 2800 players.

    1 physical server (powerful computer) - 16 regions of 350 players = 5600 players.

For the company - these are from 2 to 4 physical servers with 10000 players.

For the player - this is 1 server with 10000 players :)

    Any questions?

  • Why is it important for the map to be a small island with 5 cities?

    Hardware restriction

This is an international server with many players!

The biggest problem with many players on a single server is technical.

If you want to run 10,000, 20,000 or more players on one server ... you need a very powerful server computer.

This makes the task very complicated. In most cases, you will fail. The server will be overloaded!

Imagine that you have to carry a large chamber of stones.

If you try all at once - you will fail!

The only way is to carry the stones little by little. Then you will succeed.

We are doing something similar here. We divide the players into parts! We divide the players into islands!

    And no more overloaded server!

    Each region is independent.

This allows each region to be computed by a separate physical server.

    Ready! This problem is solved!

Good distribution of players and teams

What will be the situation if there is a map with 10 regions and 50 cities?

    This is an international server.

The players who play on it can be between 10000 and 25000+! Each round will be a different number!

What will be the result if you have to distribute a varying number of players in a constant number of cities and regions?

Cities will often be empty or crowded!

In this particular case, they will be crowded or very crowded!

We don't want that, do we?

Therefore, the best solution to the problem are individual small regions.

These rules are very flexible. That's their strength!

    Here's an example:

One region can be limited to 75-150-200... champions.

We can start as many regions as we need. To distribute the players well!

    1 region = 200 players

    5000 players/200 = 25 regions

    10000 players/200 = 50 regions

    ...

    Ready! This problem is solved!

The server is international. But the regions are national.

It should be noted that it is important for newbies to play in a region in their language.

In order for them to study, to ask questions, to make contacts and friendships ...

So each region has its own language of communication.

How is that possible? The number of players from different languages is different!

These rules are very flexible. That's their strength!

    Here's an example:

One region can be limited to 75-150-200... champions.

Of the languages with few players there will be only 1 region.

Of the languages with many players there will be many regions.

Combining several close languages in one region is also an option.

The number of regions can be flexibly changed according to needs.

    Ready! This problem is solved!

    Fair and decent competition

Each region is independent. Completely separate from all other regions.

The success of each player depends on the success of the entire region.

Everyone who wants success must work hard for their city / region.

Personal prestige cannot be stolen from other regions.

So everyone should help their own city and region!

Are there any questions about this part?

  • Newbies - Easy start (Level A0: 0-49.999 PP)

The first round newbies receive a free plus account. For the whole round!

+ 50 gold for the first round!

    Lucy - just basic lessons

Locked features: sitter, invite friend, gold transfer, production series

License - free purchase of a license (without gold), without participation in auctions

    What will you offer?

  • There will be at least 10,000 players on each server. From all over the world!

Is that a requirement for your idea? Because even with heavy and very expensive marketing campaigns it would be very hard to get 10.000 players on a single server; even more so if it's multiple of those servers. And even if we could do that for one server, those would just be the number of registered accounts, not active players.

20.000 active players is sadly way beyond our possibilities (unless we would close most of the other game words of course, but nobody wants that).

All players play on one server.

Sadly this is another impediment. Did you play the first round of Masters? From that event we learned (the hard way) that putting 10.000 active players on one server has extremely negative effects on the performance of the game.

A logical server can easily distribute its work to a large number of physical servers. (Physical server = powerful computer)

The logical server of the game is a network of several physical servers.

For the user, this is just one server. Technically, these are several servers.

I'm afraid this is not the solution for the problem huge amounts of players are causing. We already use different physical servers for different functions of the game and are currently working to do so even more, which has lots of advantages. However there are other limitations to performance, it's not just the server. For example there is a limit how many calculations our RTS can handle. So even with virtual servers and multipe physical servers working together, there is still a limit how many players (or game actions) a gameworld can handle.

I understand that you solve this problem by using regions/islands that are completely separate, except for being mixed in the same ranking. But if they are completely seperated, isn't that essentially the server setup we have right now? I mean, right now the different game worlds are completely separate and they come together in the global rankings in the lobby?
Of course the league system is missing in the current setup, but apart from that, the regions you describe are essentially separate gameworlds (which are running pararelly).

One region can be limited to 75-150-200... champions.

How are those groups defined? Are friends seperated? If not, how do you handle friends that have vastly different skill levels? Can't they ever play together?

he first round newbies receive a free plus account. For the whole round!

Let me ask the annoying business question here and play Advocatus Diaboli: How can game revenue stay the same if a one of the most bought items in the game is given away for free?

Sorry for all the annoying questions and problems, but I really like your general idea of leagues, so lets try to look for a way to solve those problems and polish this idea as much as possible.

  • Is that a requirement for your idea? Because even with heavy and very expensive marketing campaigns it would be very hard to get 10.000 players on a single server; even more so if it's multiple of those servers. 20.000 active players is sadly way beyond our possibilities (unless we would close most of the other game words of course, but nobody wants that).

    There is no requirement.

    These principles will work with 1000, 2000, 5000, 10000, 20,000 players ...

There will be many willing advanced players (champions).

Competing with players from all over the world is an exciting challenge for many players.

To reach the highest position you will need to play at least 6 rounds! (6 months!!!) If you always rank well against the best players from around the world8o

And your success depends on the success of the whole region! You will have to work hard!

There is interesting competition of regions. Regions from around the world are competing! This is truly unique!

Ranking of 10 levels! For different skills!

This is much more than Masters!

This is something unique in the world of RN<3

There will be many champions here! I assure you!

The goal of this game is personal satisfaction.

There are many types of personal satisfaction.

    The victory of the region.

Become qualified at a higher level.

    Keep the level.

Get career points and other awards for a good place in your level.

See your own level in relation to players from all over the world.

    To build a city.

    Management of the region!

    ...

    I assure you.

Such rules will bring a lot of emotion and personal satisfaction to many players.

    But, like everything else.

    There is no universal entertainment.

But in these rules, many players will find unique challenges.

Because this is the Champions League!

With unique competition of regions! From all over the world!

This does not replace the other worlds.

This is a unique addition to them!

Which many players will fall in love with!

Are there any questions about this part?

Of course the league system is missing in the current setup, but apart from that, the regions you describe are essentially separate gameworlds (which are running pararelly)

These rules eliminate all the problems that were with the first Masters.

I know that more than one server worked for the first masters.

The description I made is for non-professionals. Things are a little more complicated.

But the problems are exactly as I described.

And this solution that I offer solves all such problems!

    I assure you!

Let's imagine 25 regions! 200 people in each region.

Each region is independent of the others!

    For the player, this is 1 server with 25 x 200 = 5000 players

For the company, these are 25 separate mini servers of 200 players.

These are 25 separate servers that play in parallel.

For 1 server it is very easy to compute 200 players.

This way for 25 servers it is very easy to compute 5000 players!

The described concept can be applied in other similar situations!

    Ready! This problem is solved!

The only thing that unites these 25 servers is that they participate in a common ranking!

This common ranking turns these 25 servers into one common SUPER server!!!

For the players this is 1 server. Only 1!

The victory here is not against 200 players. The victory is against thousands (5000+) of players! From all over the world!

This is a world championship! This is the World Cup!

    But that's not all!

The servers (regions) compete with each other!

25 servers from all over the world participate in the overall ranking and compete with each other!

This is unique! There is nothing like it in RN<3 so far.

This is a breathtaking competition from another universe!=O8|:saint::love::cursing::*

Are there any questions about this part?

    Why? Because I love <3Rail Nation<3:!:

  • One region can be limited to 75-150-200... champions.

    How are those groups defined?

    Teams (Associations)

    1 Region - 5 cities - 5 teams

There are only 5 teams! Each city is one big team.

If you change the city - you change the team.

    * Changing the city is only possible if the even balance of the champion players is preserved.

    1 city = 1 team

Each city is one big team.

Each region is a "team" of 5 cities.

If in each city there are 25 champions = 25 * 5 = 125 champions in the region

If in each city there are 50 champions = 50 * 5 = 250 champions in the region

    * The exact size of a region is a matter of algorithms and distribution.

And this should be discussed with the developers!

I have a lot of ideas!

And I am ready to discuss in 3 languages - English, German, Russian. I prefer English!

I can only write in Bulgarian.

I can read in Russian and English!

I only know a few words in German.

    I use automatic translation systems.

First I translate from Bulgarian to English.

Everything I write in German and Russian is a translation from English!

    Are friends seperated?

    No. In the general case!

    Region - 125 champions

There is room for at least 25 friends in a team.

There is room for at least 125 friends in one region.

    Region - 200 champions

There is room for 40 friends in one team.

There is room for at least 200 friends in one region.

    ....

Point of view. A lot depends on it!

If you have 1000 friends! And you want all 1000 to be in one team?!?!

    NO! This is definitely impossible!

    You will be separated!

If not, how do you handle friends that have vastly different skill levels?

All newbies start on this server!

They are one team with the champions and play for common goals.

    Register to play

Preliminary. Ends 24 hours before the start of the server (thereafter it is possible if there is free space on the server)

Newbies (A0): anytime (No choice - automatic distribution - troll protection)

All players are one team! Regardless of their skills!

The only difference is that they compete in different rankings!

    All friends are one team.

They play side by side for a common goal.

But they are ranked in 10 different individual rankings!

Friends with different skills are fighting in different rankings for different prizes!

But they are together! Side by side! One team!

There is room for many, many friends in these teams!

    Friends with different skills!

Each player competes only with players of his level. There are 10 rankings!

Amateurs vs. amateurs. Champions vs. champions.

But all together - one team. Fighting side by side for common goals.

    Can't they ever play together?

    Yes! Friends can play together!

Let me ask the annoying business question here and play Advocatus Diaboli: How can game revenue stay the same if a one of the most bought items in the game is given away for free?

I don't know if you understood what was written correctly!?!?!?!

Or the situation of the company is tragic!

I offer newcomers to receive 1 month free plus account!

Only newcomers! Players who register for the first time in the game!

    Only for 1 month!

I do not know what the financial policy of the company is.

But you mainly rely on income that comes from players who are in the game for the first time !!!??!?!

    That sounds tragic to me!

The purpose of this offer is to give an easy start to new players!

The goal is for newcomers to feel the benefits of a plus account.

And at the same time to have easy first steps in the game!
