Feedback to suggestions from past weeks

    From here you will find feedback to various suggestions from the past few weeks. These wishes come from different domains, some more familiar to COM/US players than others. Unfortunately I do not have player names to attach to each suggestion.


    This is not a complete list of all suggestions, but some of the familiar ones or more important ones.




    Engdame: Connecting a city to rail network should not alone be enough to recalculate RGs.

    We are working on a solution. Even if it might not be perfect solution for everyone, it is still a good step to take forward.


    Daily login bonuses would be automatically redeemed with the first login.
    When you login, you can redeem a bonus. That's the basic idea behind daily login bonus. In the future however players will not miss the final bonus anymore. The final bonus will be delayed by one day each time players will not pick the daily login bonus. If someone missed a couple days, it will take a couple more days to collect the final bonus.


    Use the free place on the left bottom of the workers screen for a preview of the thread "Workers"
    This is an interesting idea and has been added to our list of features we might start working on - when the time comes.


    More rights for the mayor (reduce prices for goods or prestige for delivering in the town to force the delivering into landmarks)

    This will not happen, and while there are players who would like to see this implemented - there are those who do not wish for such feature.


    Landmark license: Add a license that adds a small bonus for goods transported to landmarks

    Licences are by their very nature meant each for one product, so no Landmark licence. What if there was a worker though who adds a landmark delivery bonus? That might be worth looking into.


    New secret scenario: The prestige and position in the ranking for players and teams are invisible until the game is over. Or only shown when era changes.

    Now players can hold some of their prestige back by holding on to medals until the very end of the round. Rankings are important and pushes players to do better than others, so hiding rankings for the duration of the round would probably not work. Rankings are part of the fun.


    Association Competition that can be started by the association leader. For example: connect as many cities or industries or deliver as many goods/passengers.

    Competitions are fun and the game offers those. Adding a feature for leaders to create additional competitions sounds a bit complicated in comparison. Better to think how the competitions we now have could be improved, so we can use the already existing features.


    Endgame idea: Limit for every block (EG goods), if a block is not finished within 8 hours the block will be closed and the next one will start

    This idea can be already found on our list of future changes we might start working on as soon as the right moment comes. This could fit a separate scenario better than adding it to all scenarios (geared towards more experienced and competitive players).


    More color range for the association emblems, as well as the option to have just patterns or just plain color. More emblem options in general.

    Add a group chat option in the game so you can use it for strategic planning.

    A familiar wish that shows up every now and then. It is not of highest priority though so it takes time before something like this can be implemented. For example, fixing the chat system and message system for all platforms comes first. Hopefully Discord, Skype, Slack or other chat systems can help until then, or in-game private messages.


    Give an association the right to name someone who can create closed threads, where no-one but them can comment. This would help with endgame calls.

    This suggestion is already on our list for features we'd like to see in the future as well (when the right moment comes...)


    When Plus Account ends, the money in bank going over the limit will not be deleted.

    We can return to this later when we discuss the Plus Account in general. There are no plans to change how the bank limit works for now.


    Add information in lobby that tells how much Plus days and Gold you have left per game world

    Something we can return back to on another day, we have some plans but can't give anything concrete or any time estimates at this moment.


    More dynamic stations with additional animations, more variety in buildings giving bonuses.

    Animations will affect the game performance, so no plans to add additional animations. The building bonuses on the other hand, we would love to hear how players would add more variety to bonuses, specific ideas!


    Level up players from level 1 -> 2 automatically.

    Can be found on our famous list of future features. We also have plans for adding an in-game notification once a player gets a career achievement.


    A way for chair to reward other team members (gifts).

    Another familiar wish and can also be found on our own internal wish list. Needs to be well balanced and abuse-free.

    If players have not delivered 12 products in 8 hours .They are not competitive and do not need to inspire them with this idea ... and with such "improvements" will never.

    No, this will not happen. Solo players may dislike it when facing established Associations but everyone has the option of creating an association and the feature is liked by the majority of the players. Even solo players can create a free-hauler association.


    Add emojis to the communication system

    Add a new Canada scenario

    We are not working on new scenarios at the moment. Canada would be very similar to what we already have in the game, if we were to create a new scenario and a new map some day. The latest specialty is Platform X.


    Add a Passenger transport only scenario

    Doesn't gather much support from the community. Would also ask for lots of effort and developing would take ages. Not in our plans.


    Summer Games couldn't be tracked

    We will try to avoid special events in the future where we can't offer trackable metrics


    Add 4th worker slot

    This would be too powerful and Associations are already quite powerful. No need to increase the worker advantage.


    New Achievement for the fastest Endgame

    The wish was added on our list of upcoming features


    Share your tracks with other players

    Hard to implement and wouldn't add much to the game as it is. Balancing your finances and building tracks should still ask for effort and gameplay decisions.


    Long-term server that never ends

    This wish doesn't seem to gather much support from the community and doesn't fit the general game design of Rail Nation. This would need to be an entirely new never-ending game of railroad transporting with very little left of the original Rail Nation.


    Add career points to mega bonus

    This will not happen, or it would turn into multi-server farming without any strategy needed. Career points are meant to be an achievement or a reward from special events, not something players can farm without effort.


    Add more prestige gain from Landmarks than Cities

    Landmarks already give more prestige than cities (4x).


    Implement a way to make an association go broke

    Nope, will not happen. Not being able to lose what you have worked for is one of the most appreciated game features in RN. That is something we shouldn’t touch.


    Add a limit to Gold Rush

    There is already a cap: The higher it is, the slower the pot grows. Part of what makes the Gold Rush so exciting is the high amounts you can win.


    Showcase of City tonnage in the widget

    Has been added to our list of upcoming features


    Show notifications on who has read the city forum posts

    Would most likely add unnecessary blaming and shaming between HC and casual players. Not everyone reacts to all posts, and not all posts make sense to all players (language barriers included).

    According to our surveys, the vast majority of players would not enjoy this. Maybe there would still be a method to make it exciting, but it seems that just "Make the game longer" is a rather unpopular idea.

    But for only one international server or for a special event.

    If I learned anything in the Gaming Industry, it's that nothing is easy. Everything is always more complicated than it seems initially, everything needs to be tested, everything requires time...time that can not be used on something else in consequence.

    Thats why it's important that we prioritize. There is a backlog of ~500 ideas, many of them quite good. Even in the next 20 years we couldn't do all of them and in those 20 years we would probably collect a thousand additional good ideas. This is why we can't just try everything that sounds good. We need to select the most promising ideas.

    That doesn't necessarily mean that "Longer servers" is completely out. Personally, I'm also a bit of a fan of this and would really like to find a concept that would work. But it means that this idea definitely needs refining, because "Longer servers" alone is not enough to justify to do it.
